Concrete Bag Count Mistakes to Avoid

Concrete estimates fail when inches, cubic feet, and bag yields get mixed together under time pressure.

Convert slab depth from inches to feet before multiplying. Four inches is 0.333 feet, not 4 feet.

Bag yield is volume, not bag weight. An 80 lb bag commonly yields about 0.6 cubic feet, so large pours require many more bags than people expect.

Do not plan a large pour alone. Concrete sets on its own schedule, and delivery, mixing, placement, and finishing time matter as much as the material number.
