Contractor Quote Comparison Checklist

The cheapest quote is not always the cheapest project if scope, allowances, deposits, and change orders are unclear.

Compare the same scope line by line: demolition, preparation, materials, labor, cleanup, disposal, permits, and warranty language.

Watch allowances. A quote with low placeholder amounts can look cheaper until selections are made and change orders begin.

Ask for insurance, references, schedule, payment milestones, and written change-order rules before using price as the deciding factor.
