Gravel Depth for Paths and Small Pads
Depth changes gravel quantity quickly, so a one-inch mistake can turn into extra bags or a short delivery.
Decorative paths often use a shallower top layer than driveways or load-bearing areas. The calculator estimates volume, but base preparation controls how well the surface holds up.
Measure depth in inches, then convert to feet by dividing by 12. Multiply length by width by depth to get cubic feet, then divide by 27 for cubic yards.
Order a small waste buffer when the ground is uneven, edges are irregular, or the supplier weighs material instead of selling by exact volume.
